This week in Turkish class
Mar 13th, 2012 by Jo Dee Walters
This week in Turkish class we learned a lot of verbs for daily activities, and we learned how to use those verbs in the first person simple present. Useful stuff, right? If you want to see what we’ve been working on, you can visit the Turkish blog at https://sites.google.com/site/buildturkish/home.
Next week is Spring Break, and we will also take the week after Spring Break off, so the next Turkish class will be on April 3rd.

Thai Lesson 4
Mar 7th, 2012 by Rawiwan Buppanhasamai
Sawaddee kha everyone,
Our lesson 4 this week is the continued lesson from last time. We talked about how to say something in simple sentences. This week we talked about the verb /len/ ‘to play’ and /bpai/ ‘to go’. We also played a word game, so that everyone could get more practice.
We will upload more vocabulary on our website . Feel free to check it out at
http://sites.google.com/site/learnthaiwithbuild/welcome
See you next week! แล้วเจอกันค่ะ /laew jer gun kha/
Thai lesson 3
Mar 5th, 2012 by Rawiwan Buppanhasamai
Hi all, in our last lesson we had 2 new students. It’s nice to have all 4 motivated students. We talked about how to form simple sentences in Thai, starting with the verb /gin/ ‘to eat’ such as
/chan chaawp gin khao phad/ = I like to eat fried rice.
The students showed their interest in food terms, so we talked more about different kinds of food and ingredients.
We then talked about adding ‘not’ into the sentence
/chan mai chaawp gin khao phad/ = I don’t like to eat friend rice.
I will post a separate handout of the whole list of food terms with an appropriate tone mark.

There isn’t a lot of German in the movie, but listen for the Jahreszeiten, the seasons, in the beginning, and enjoy the amazing dancing and cinematography!
