Climate Change and the Oceans: How Science and Policy Interact

As the fifth event in the MARINE lecture series “What do policy makers need to know about climate change and the oceans?”, MIIS will host an evening presentation with special guest Dr. Wil Burns.Â Dr. Burns has worked for more than 20 years in the nonprofit environmental sector, governmental sector and academia.
He specializes in scientific, legal and political issues related to climate change and biodiversity, including the threats facing whales and other marine species. Dr. Burns will be addressing the dynamic issues of fisheries, invasive species and geo-engineering in the context of science and policy and strategies to promote positive stewardship of our oceans.
