1. I remember being in a number of different countries where people are wearing t-shirts with american rappers on the front. At first, a person could think that this is a representation of the globalization of media, however when talking to the people actually wearing the branded clothing, they were not aware of who the musician was or what it stood for. From this one could say that they are not directly subject to the effects of global media, but can you think of ways where this might indirectly be effecting them?
2. In reading about the uses and gratification theory behind advertising, do you believe that the company producing the advertisement is dictating customer reactions or do customer interests dictate the formulation of the ad?
