MAP Program Changes

Dear MAP Peer Mentors and Mentees,

I have an important announcement to make. I will be leaving my position here at the Institute on Thursday, October 29th for my new position as Director of Student Services at the San Francisco Theological Seminary. I will miss all of you. I’ve really enjoyed coordinating the MAP Peer Mentor Program and working with all of you as the Coordinator of Student Services.

Shawna Routh will be taking over the coordination of the MAP Program on October 30th. In the meantime, please let me know if you have any questions. Please also feel free to stop by my office if you have time.

Thank you again everyone for all of your hard work and positive contributions to the MAP Program. I wish great success for all of you and am looking forward to the leadership you will continue to take on at MIIS and beyond.

Warm regards,

Gail

The Recruitment Office is running a phonathon to call prospective students  this coming Tuesday April 21st and we need your help!

A pizza dinner and refreshments will be provided for all volunteers.  PLUS you  will receive either a Jamba Juice gift card or a Pete’s Coffee gift card for  every hour that you volunteer.

Here’s the Deal:

We need current students to call applicants to chat with them about the  Monterey Institute and help answer any questions that they may have.  This  will be a great way to share your experiences and learn about the students who  are applying to the Monterey Institute.

Where: The Recruitment Suite (443 Casa Fuente)

When: Tuesday April 21st.  Volunteer for one or more of 5 shifts:  3-4pm, 4-
5pm, 5-6pm, 6-7pm or 7-8pm

If you are interested in helping, please contact Devin Lueddeke as soon as  possible by emailing him at devin.lueddeke@miis.edu  or by calling 831-647-6543.

Thank you for your help!      -Devin

Dear Students,

The MAP Peer Mentor Program is looking for mentors for the Fall 2009 semester. We have many new students coming this fall, please take advantage of this exciting opportunity to be a peer mentor by applying online at http://www.miis.edu/saffairs_map_mentor.html !

Dear MAP Program mentors and mentees,

I wanted to mention a great opportunity to gain more mentoring experience by occasionally answering questions for prospective MIIS students. I am currently putting together a list of MAP Program participants who would like to participate in this opportunity.  This list will be sent to the MIIS recruiting department, who will give your  name and email address to a prospective student of your degree program when applicable. Your name and email address will only be given out to prospective students who specifically ask to correspond with a current student.

Please let me know if you’d like to be added as well as let me know your preferred email address and program of study. Thanks and looking forward to hearing from you! -Gail :)

Hi everyone,

The upcoming MAP Program Special Projects Meetings will be held in Student Affairs on

Monday, March 9 at 4 pm

and

Tuesday, March 10 at 3 pm

If you will attend either of these meetings, please send me an RSVP email by 12 noon  on Monday including which meeting date you will attend. This will help me decide if we need to find a larger space to meet in.

Thanks everyone and looking forward to our upcoming special projects meetings! -Gail :)
