Have you heard about the Summer in the Field blog? Our students are writing about their experiences in Monterey, nation-wide, and around the globe whether they’re participating in conservation work, international development projects, multinational collaborations, or small town projects.
We (at the Digital Media Commons – now the Digital Learning Commons) want to turn this into a real virtual community. That means commenting on each others’ posts, and creating an interactive feel to the site.
You can help us make our dream a reality! If you haven’t been to the blogging community yet, please check out some of the posts we’ve received so far – from the Center for the Blue Economy Fellows, Quinn Van Valer-Campbell in Bosnia-Herzegovina, Tina Novero in Calca, Peru, and Tanilee Eichelberger in the Yucatan region.
If you haven’t registered for the blogs yet, learn how to get started, and check out the blogging tips page for inspiration! We want you to comment, and even post your own entries. Please spread the word to other faculty or students you think might be interested, and feel free to email miisDLC@gmail.com with any questions!

I’m glad to see that this is taking off, and I hope that it leads to more stories in the MIIS Around the World section of the MIIS website and our story feeds throughout the site!
