If you use Exchange/Outlook to send bulk emails, you should be aware of a restriction that Middlebury is about to implement:
As part of our effort to combat the effects of a recent phishing attack on our network, we are reconfiguring our email system so that individuals are limited in their ability to send out bulk emails to off-campus addresses using Exchange. (This does not apply to Lyris).
The change we propose to make is that as a default, a user can only send out 500 messages every half hour.
This default can be changed for individuals. If you send Amy McGill the names or department accounts that we need to allow to send out bulk emails at a rate greater than 500 per half hour, she will ask Middlebury LIS to add these names to an exception list.
